The material is thorough, easy to follow, interesting and straight-forward. I think we'll actually have fun with math!”

Grades 5 & 6 (Alpine, UT) “Thank you very much for this site. I've read midway through lesson 2 and have found it to be very interesting and well presented. It has given me some new ideas for the presentation of math to my child including the integration of other materials I have recently purchased. God bless you in your endeavors.”

Homeschool FAQ

Q 1. Who created eTAP’s materials?
eTAP’s instruction was developed by experienced curriculum developers who have also created materials for leading publishers including McGraw-Hill and Prentice Hall. Many of our authors also hold PhDs in their subject area and have held teaching positions at schools across the country.

eTAP's materials have also been reviewed by the CLRN (California Learning Resources Network) and are in compliance with the standards of the California State Board of Education. To learn more about the CLRN, visit www.clrn.org.

Q 2. How does eTAP offer a complete K-12 online homeschool program for so much less than other programs?

eTAP offers more because:

  • eTAP is designed for self-instruction by the student or with guidance by the parent, so we don’t have the high administration costs charged by other programs
  • eTAP is online, so we don't have to charge for the cost of printing and binding text books
  • eTAP relies on word-of-mouth referrals instead of expensive marketing campaigns (please tell your friends so we can keep our membership cost low!)
  • eTAP offers more because we choose to. Making quality education materials affordable is part of our corporate mission.

Q 3. How do we take our child from homeschool to college? What credits do they earn?Although eTAP does not grant High School diplomas, you can qualify for college admission by taking the GED, or General Educational Development Test. This is a test that certifies the taker has attained high school-level academic skills. For most purposes, a GED is considered to be equivalent to a high school diploma. Approximately 95% of colleges will accept GED graduates, though they will typically require them to take the SAT and/or ACT. If a 4-year college will not accept a GED graduate, they can attend any community college in the United States, after which they can transfer to almost any four-year university. To find detailed information about GED test requirements, please visit the American Council on Education at www.acenet.edu/clll/ged/index.cfm. To find information about the SAT requirements and test dates, please visit the official SAT site www.collegeboard.com. Q 4. How do we find out the homeschool laws for our state? Search on Google for "Homeschooling (your state)."
This should find local home school information and support groups that list your state’s requirements.

Q 5. How do we document our child’s progress to meet our State’s or Charter School’s requirements?
If you are a parent supervising your child’s education at home with eTAP, we recommend that you keep a record of the worksheets and other work (problems, tests, etc.) that your child completes. You can use this record to satisfy your local state officials if you are asked how you are educating your children or later decide to enroll your child in school. Your record of their work will let the school know what grade level to place your child. For more information, see our section on "Using eTAP."

Q 6. Is eTAP’s program accredited?
The State of California has reviewed our program and found it to be in compliance with their state standards. Each state, however, has their own system of approval. Most states have found eTAP's content satisfactory for homeschool use and some states are using it for their public school programs. You can request that your local school officials review our website.
