How to Use eTAP: High School

eTAP is online, so it can be used both at school and at home.When parents ask how they can help their children at home, you can recommend eTAP. Currently, eTAP users are evenly divided between teachers, students, and their parents. Each group finds eTAP helpful in a different way.Instruction OrganizationThis curriculum is divided into Lesson Units with topics shown in a Table of Contents (TOC). Here are some ways which you can use eTAP for different grade levels.High School Grades 9-12Online testing is provided for each Lesson Unit. Teachers can use this as part of their student assessment.MathematicsThe usual sequence is Algebra I, Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra II, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus.Algebra I has 16 Lesson Units and is extended over one year of study. Each Lesson Unit may take two weeks to complete. Geometry has 16 Lesson Units and is extended over one year of study. Each Lesson Unit may take two weeks to complete. Trigonometry has seven Lesson Units and is extended over one semester of study. Each Lesson Unit may take about two weeks to complete. Algebra II has 12 Lesson Units and is extended over one year of study. Each Lesson Unit may take three weeks to complete. Statistics has nine Lesson Units and is extended over one semester of study. Each Lesson Unit may take about two weeks to complete. English (Language Arts)English has 21 Lesson Units that span the 4 years of High School.Lesson Units are identified with the grade when the content should be emphasized. Each Lesson Unit may take two weeks of study. The student should move on to a higher level as he or she proceeds to the next year of study. ScienceScience provides a separate subject of Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics for each of the four High School years. The subjects may be studied in any sequence, although Earth Science should be completed first.Each subject has about ten Lesson Units to be completed over the period of one school year. About 3-4 weeks should be used for each Lesson Unit. History (Social Studies)History also provides different subjects for each of the four High School years. Each grade has about ten Lesson Units to be studied over the period of one school year. About 3-4 weeks should be used for each Lesson Unit.
